Sony Strategy Analysis Free Essays

SONY Strategy Case Analysis Executive Summary Sony is currently faced with the problem of low operating margin and stagnant market share in the videogame console industry. PlayStation3 of Sony is competing with Xbox360 of Microsoft and Wii of Nintendo. Despite the high technology, Wii outsells PlayStation in the market. We will write a custom essay sample on Sony Strategy Analysis or any similar topic only for you Order Now This shows that the traditional strategy of Sony based on hardware should be reviewed according to the new trend. Considering gradually increasing market size and harsh competition, Sony should invest more on creating new customers and software. Analysis After experiencing the five or six cycles defined by advancement of underlying technology, there are currently three main competitors in the videogame industry: Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. The PlayStation of Sony and the Xbox360 of Microsoft can be characterized by high technology and interoperability with other electronic products. Meanwhile, the Wii of Nintendo emphasizes innovative and user-friendly capabilities such as wireless motion-sensing controllers. Therefore, the Wii could appeal to more widespread customers such as senior people including traditional gamers. Based on enthusiastic reactions to Wii, the leading market share of PlayStation in the prior generation is replaced by the Wii of Nintendo. As of 2008, the Wii substantially outsells the two rivals. According to Five Forces Analysis, Sony has been faced with the following characteristics in the game industry. Suppliers: The bargaining power is relatively high since videogame console makers outsource the manufacturing of console. Also, they need the support of game developers. In this respect, the one of the main reasons why the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 could succeed as a new entrant would be the supplier-friendly strategy of Sony. Sony took the policy to license any PlayStation software as far as it does not clash with hardware. Also, Sony provided third-party developers with various development tools and soft libraries. Buyers: Compared with past customers who could enjoy the limited game console suppliers, current customers could enjoy the various types of game platforms. Also, based on the high technologies, the games for every age or demographic are coming out to the market. Therefore, game console makers should ensure as many customers as possible to enjoy the economy of scale in the increasing market size. This gamer-friendly environment results in the high bargaining power of customers. Regarding customer-based viewpoint, Sony failed to captivate the people from all levels. Even though PlayStation software is targeted at a more mature audience, PlayStation of Sony has been usually used by the traditional gamers of young age. Threat of new entrants: In the game industry, the possibility of new entrants to succeed is very slim because new platform based on high technologies requires high cost and risk. Therefore, small or medium sized companies are very difficult to finance RD and marketing. Also, it is very difficult for new entrants to find game developers. Three giant companies (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo) overwhelmingly dominate the market of videogame console and there exists a big entrance barrier. It is the reality that a small company cannot help being pushed out by three major companies. Since Sony got into the game industry, the biggest threat of new entrants would be the appearance of new contender, Microsoft, in 2001. Threat of substitute products: There exists the high possibility of substitutes from other industries. Personal computers or mobile handheld devices could be the potential substitute of videogame consoles. The reality is that many people are enjoying games using other devices such as I-Phone or I-Pad over time. In addition, consumers don’t have to bear the additional cost when they change from game consoles to other substitutes. Considering the high diffusion rate of personal computers or mobile devices, potential substitute products could be high threat to selling game consoles. Positioning among current competitors: Definitely, Sony is the major entity in the game console market. However, the market situation is not so bright as the past over time. As a new entrant in 2001, Sony could get a huge success through giant money, high technology, stylish design and support of game developers. However, Sony is now suffering from negative operating profit and turned over the status of top maker to the Wii of Nintendo. So, Sony needs to set up new strategies in the videogame industry. Recommendation First of all, Sony should broaden customer scope from traditional gamers to the general public. Game industry is still growing although the attractiveness is waning over time. Sony is trying to position the PlayStation as the ultimate hub for digital living room. However, the people are still not familiar with PlayStation and consider it just game machine. Therefore, Sony needs to enforce the marketing for family-friendly game console maker. The one of the main reasons for Wii’s success is that Nintendo targeted the niche market that other competitors have ignored. Nintendo focused on the general public with the easy and simple game consoles instead of expensive and complicated ones. Wii contributed to letting the public general realize the fun of game. Now, Sony needs to leverage the opponent’s assets as a Judo Strategy as Sega did in the past. If the family-friendly image is added to the high technology of Sony, the PlayStation could appeal much more to the general public. Lastly, Sony needs to more invest on its software. Sony has been focused on the product itself based on high technology and attractive design. As Nintendo makes high margin based on the customer-friendly software forgoing high price of console, Sony needs to broaden available games for PlayStation. A wide range of Adult users could bring new Blue Ocean of profits. Utilizing the advantages of PlayStation, the high technology and interoperability with other electronic devices, Sony could set up the new digital hub replacing TV and Computer at home. To do this, above all, Sony should establish the affluent in-house software associated with developers as Apple make additional profits through various apps. Corporate Finance Using the CAPM Model

Questions: 1. Management of a company could use Sensitivity and Scenario analysis in their corporate decision makings. How their decision making could be related to capital budgeting techniques such as, Internal Rate of Return, Net Present Value etc? 2. Explain and identify similarities and differences between the following two models? Answers: 1. Sensitivity Analysis The meaning of capital budgeting can be explained by looking at the current study. When handling with the anticipated resources and uncertainty demands becomes one of the main factors. The process of sensitivity analysis can be explained as the statistical technique, which is useful in explaining the substantial deviations from the expected value. Sensitivity Analysis is worried about discovering the value through which one can transform the information input to create the result of the linear-programming models to remained unaltered comparatively. This is helpful in explaining the information sensitivity that is provided for the challenges and is useful in evaluating the most favorable levels needed for every input. It is essential for the decision makers to support the decision making system and constructing required recommendations for it. this is helpful in assisting accurate examining of vigorousness of the outputs derived. Sensitivity analysis is useful in developing the communication process from the frame workers to the decision makers by assisting with adequate recommendations towards more convincing, trustworthy, credible and comprehensible decisions (Tian 2013). The analysis of sensitivity aids in raising the quantification and knowledge about of the processes, which is useful in proving knowledge about the relationship in the midst of output and input variables. The sensitivity analysis is useful in constructing of a framework, which aids in locating and searching for any faults in the model. It is notable to explain that in order to execute a sensitivity analysis, all the required inputs and deliberations that are linked in the process in order to get the expected output. For example, a model of deliberations and inputs of a firm is worried about manufacturing a new commodity that may comprise of data that is concerned with the estimated obtainability of limited resources, inflation rate, workforce employed in the development and research activity. The results are thought as the new profit, which is provided by the new commodity. Thus, sensitivity analysis is associated with transforming every variable and supervises what forces any alteration in the output (Iooss and Lematre 2015). It is seen that usually one variable get changed once and all the other factors remain constant at their pedestal value. This is helpful in effortless explanation of the variables that have an impact on the output. However, it is notable to show that all the resources may be self-governing, a s transforming inputs at one stage is not worried about the communication among the inputs. Figure 1: Sensitivity Analysis Reflection (Source: ) Sensitivity analysis aids the management as the style of evaluating the amount of risk that is engaged in the venture projected. Sensitivity analysis even helps in evaluating the impact of deviations in relation to the variable irrefutable constituents of a plan and aids the management to identify the possible consequences. The management of a firm can make use of the sensitivity analysis as a technique to discover the fundamentals of a plan if transformed to some level will have an effect on the outcomes of a project (Pianosi, Sarrazin and Wagener 2015). It is essential to explain that the organization connects with various types of risks, as there is no guarantee that the organization will gain any profit. The firm makes an effort to decrease the level of risk to the minimum level by remaining involved in activities that is helpful to the organization to earn revenues. The management undertakes the sensitivity analysis before using the plan for a new endeavor of business operations . Sensitivity analysis aids the management to evaluate the factors that will be helpful to the venture to earn revenue by generating an effect on the net profit amount of the planned operations (Kiendl et al. 2014). The managers explain the procedure of supervising risks that are involved in new venture or operations provided their extravagance by making use of the sensitivity analysis. Scenario Analysis Scenario analysis can be explained as the process of estimating the expected value of the portfolio in a given time period. This process engages the use of predicting the accurate variations in the amounts of the securities of the portfolio or the essential components that occurs like alterations in the interest rate. The process of scenario analysis is widely used to administer the transformations in the value of the portfolio that concerns the undesirable incidents, which may be useful to compute a theoretical horrible scenario (Ba?bura, Giannone and Lenza 2015). As a mechanism, sensitivity analysis comprises of evaluating the various reinvestment rates for expected returns that are reinvested during the prospect of investment. Scenario analysis provides a process to forecast variations in the value of the portfolio depending upon the standards of statistics circumstances (Bauer et al. 2015). These variations depend upon the happenings of various situations, which is known as scenarios that follows the principle of analysis. The scenario analysis can be an effective mechanism to compute the level of risk, which is involved in the provided investment correlated with the different possible incidents that ranges from widely probable to widely improbable. An investor can evaluate the level of risk available within his zone of comfort by looking at the results obtained from the analysis (Blobel and Frhlich 2017). There are numerous various paths of reaching the scenario analysis. Out of the all the various methods, one of the collective process is explaining the standard deviation of monthly or daily returns on security and then computing the expected value for every portfolio that create profits having their standard deviation lower or above than the average rate of return. With the help of this process, the forecaster can gather a rational amount of assurance with respect to the alteration in the value of a portfolio during an allotted time-period. Scenario analysis is undertaken to evaluate the probable investment situations, which can be used in various financial situations to explain the transfer in the values because of the theoretical circumstances. From the perspective of a customer, an individual can make use of the scenario analysis to analyse financial results while undertaking credit purchase that is contrary to hoard funds for any cash purchase. The organizations on the other hand utilize the scenario analysis to explain the possible financial outcomes of definite decisions. For instance, choosing one out of the two storefronts and facilities from which the organizational functions can be undertaken (Seppelt, Lautenbach and Volk 2013). This may comprise of deliberations like variations in rent, fees included with the utilities and any sort of advantages or insurance that may be accessible in one place but not in the other one. 2. Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM): CAPM is a model, which is employed for ascertaining the effective asset-based rate of return in theoretical underpinning for making decisions in relation to asset inclusions within a suitable diversified portfolio. Thus, the capital asset pricing model describes the estimation of an association, which could be observed within the risk involved in asset coupled with the projected return (Anghel and Paschia 2013). On the other hand, in Capital Market Line (CML), the market portfolio is deemed in encompassing the division of each risky asset. This is conducted through employment of the market asset values for ascertaining the weights (Brown and Walter 2013). Thus, CML is obtained from CAPM, which determines the expected return at different levels of risk. Under CAPM, CML could only be applied in the final portfolio of an investor. Moreover, in CAPM, the investors are probable to hold portfolios, which depend on the CML. Along with this, under CAPM; the CDML is given greater priority in contrast to the efficient frontier, as it concentrates on considering the risk-free asset within the portfolio (Dragoe, Balte? and Ardelean 2014). Thus, CAPM denotes that the portfolio of the market is primarily the efficient frontier. Figure 1: Relationship between Capital Asset Pricing Model and Capital Market Line (Source: Mihai and Cristina 2015) It has been observed that the CAPM assumptions are often considered as unrealistic; however, the simplification of reality is necessary to develop useful models. The assumptions of CAPM help in measuring the risks of the market and accordingly, they provide information to the investors about any change in the expected returns. In the words of Odobai?, Tolui? and Tolui? (2014), the CAPM denotes that the portfolio of the market acts as an efficient frontier. In addition, the pricing of the securities is made in such a way that the projected risks offset the ascertained returns. The CAPM covers two different aspects that generate the need of CML. The CML denotes the return on investment for an investor in relation to a specific portfolio. Thus, the formula of CAPM is employed on the part of CML for computing the expected return of an asset or a portfolio. In other words, CML depicts a visual representation of the formula of CAPM in the form of a graph (Vollmer 2014). Thus, it helps in describing the relationship between the expected return and systematic risk involved in a particular portfolio. The CAPM takes into consideration CML, which is necessary in determining the viability of a security for sound decision-making. The relationship between CAPM and CML is depicted in the formula as follows: (m, rm) is used to represent the point involved in the overall market portfolio. The rational investors select those portfolios, which have a point of (p. rp), as it depend largely on CML. Therefore, after the evaluation of this formula, CAPM could be used for gauging the systematic risk involved in a specific share. Along with this, the line of transformation that is tangential to the efficient set coupled with interception within risk-free rate rf, signifies CML. This implies a specific constitution of risky assets that an investor intends to hold. Such a composition could be considered as market portfolio. Finally, since CML acts as the line of transformation, the efficient frontier is tangential with the same. Capital Market Line (CML): CML is a line, which links returns with risk-free investments and associated market returns. The main point of distinction between CML and efficient frontier is the involvement of the former in lower risk investments and the portfolios contained within it are considered as efficient frontiers. Thus, CML is a method that is used to evaluate the portfolio performance. The points, which are below the line, would generate lower returns coupled with identical risks. Due to such reasons, there is absence of idealness. In addition, it is depicted in the form of a graph within CAPM for denoting the rate of return within market portfolio. The CML is based on the assumption that each investor of an organisation is required to have market portfolio. The risk intensity is associated positively with the expected return (Wagdi 2014). It has been observed that the CML acts as the linear mix of risk-free assets and the overall portfolio. The portfolios under CML are considered inferior that denotes a new set of efficient. The CML is expected to stay within CAPM for denoting the rate of return for efficient portfolios, which are probable to encounter the risk level related to risk-free return and market portfolio. The CML is derived by sketching a tangent from the interception point on efficient frontier to situation, in which the anticipated holdings return is identical to the risk-free rate. Thus, CML helps the investor by considering the risks of different additional assets within the outstanding portfolio. The CML is the output from the relation with market portfolio and the risk-free assets. The different consideration points in CML have enhanced the profiles of risk-return to specific portfolio within efficient frontier with the market portfolio exception. This serves as a point within the efficient frontier, in which CML is a tangent. Thus, from the perspective of CML, the portfolio encompasses each risky asset with less holding on the same. In accordance with CAPM, the market portfolio denotes efficient frontier and this could be accumulated as the portfolio cluster. Thus, the combination of market portfolio with risk-free assets provides an increased return in comparison to the efficient frontier (Wang, Huang and Hu 2016). Hence, it could be stated that such combination would lead to commencement of capital market line. Moreover, the main techniques used for evaluation of the projects include net present value and internal rate of return. The sensitivity analysis takes into account these two techniques in project evaluation at the time, which is greater than one alteration of variable. The existing idea depends on the variables excluding the evaluated one to analyse the sensitivity of IRR and NPV with changes in the variable. References: Anghel, M.G. and Paschia, L., 2013. Planning in Management Essay Example

Planning in Management Essay In this essay there is in-depth discussion about the function on planning. The importance of planning, and why it is required in every managerial activity is brought out by this essay. The nature and is effects on the other managerial functions. The various situations and problems faced if planning fails. 2. The importance of planning in the modern world: In the dynamic environment of the modern world, time is considered as money. One needs to be at the right place at the right time in order to gain maximum benefit from time. New age has brought along with it innumerable life-changing opportunities. There are many who understand the delicacy of the nature of opportunities offered by time and manage to gain their share and on the contrary, there are many who can not avail the opportunities the developing modern world has to offer merely because of an unplanned and distorted approach toward time management. World in the present age is so rich methodologically that one task can be done in a number of ways. However, in order to be successful, it is imperative that one chooses the right course of action among the variety of ways in which a task can be done. However, the function of planning is not complete until the goals are achieved. This paper analyzes the nature and function of planning with an emphasis on its functionality toward the achievement of the organization’s goal. 4 3. Nature and functions of planning: Planning can be defined as: â€Å"Planning is deciding in advance what to do, how to do and who is to do it. Planning bridges the gap between where we are to, where we want to go. It makes Possible things to occur which would not otherwise occur†. (Koontz O’Donell, cited in www. managementstudyguide. com, 2009). The process of planning is systematic in nature and it is imperative that the planner has a mission and a vision prior to starting the process of planning. Planning answers three basic questions fundamental to the accurate cost and time estimation involved in a project. The three questions are, â€Å"who does what? , when is it done? , and how is it done? †. All an estimator needs to know is the right answer to these three questions in order to develop a schedule on which the whole project would be based. It is a very basic function of the overall management. â€Å"Without adequate planning, the management process fails and organizational needs and objectives cannot be met†. (Marquis and Huston, 2009,p. 140). It is often said that â€Å"Well planned is half done†. (Purho, 2004). In order to analyze the functionality of a plan in the context of a project or other matters of daily life, it would be rational to have a deep insight into the nature of planning. According to (Ward and Morris, 2004), the ideal approach should be that a plan needs to be wholesome in nature in that contents should be structured in such a way that they reveal how the goals can be achieved, and it should be efficient so as to evaluate and estimate the thoughts and actions that form a part of the plan and also, a plan should be easy and foolproof with easy to remember instructions that reduce the chances of anything going false. Comparing the five 5 Functions of management namely the planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling, (Erven, n. d. ) refers to planning as the fundamental function of management from which the rest of the four functions offshoot. (Pride et al, 2010, p. 169) argue that planning is frequently termed As the â€Å"first† management function because it decides the course of action for all other managerial functions. Planning is unique in its nature irrespective of whether it is being conducted for some matter of daily life or a business project. It is affected by various social, political and environmental factors that are related one way or the other with the matter being planned. Same work done in different situations may require different courses of action. Likewise, every project is unique in its nature that is why it is called a project. The repetitive work is called a process instead of a project. But if some sort of planning leads a project to a stage where it cannot find any way ahead, then it means that the planning has not performed its function. It would not be rational to state that people are not aware of the importance of planning. These days, a lot of emphasis is placed upon proper planning of the project prior to the actual execution in various industries in general and in the Construction industry in particular. Analyzing the failures of the past that took place because of a lack of a preplanned approach toward the execution of the project, owners impart a lot of value and importance to adopting a rational approach toward planning their course of action for the project. A lot of corporations spend a considerable sum of their total budget just for the sake of planning their work on the project. Many companies are doing good business and making a lot of money just by offering planning services on others’ projects. In fact, with the rapid advancement in the fields of science and technology, organizations evaluate every hour that passes to analyze how much they have been justified in their approach toward the achievement of their goals in the hour that is gone. 6 This becomes necessary because planning stays as a baseline that needs to be followed throughout the life of the project. Every project runs according to a schedule and every schedule materializes the approach worked out in the phase of planning. Thus planning serves as a guideline and in order for a project to be successful, it is imperative that the same ideology is maintained throughout the life of the project as was designed in the initial stages of the project, though the plans need to be continuously modified as per the rising demands of the situations. Such a planning is referred to as Continuous planning as identified in (Cox and Veloso, n. d. , p. 1). â€Å"Continuous planning refers to the process of planning in a world under continual change. † (Cox and Veloso, n. d. ). Critiques view the concept of continuous planning as detrimental to the overall theme of a project and support the idea that same plan should be maintained throughout the duration of the project which is not quite rational. The demands and environment of a project keeps changing over time and calls for a modification in the originally designed plan in order for the plan to conform to the change that occurred in the demands. There are two basic goals of any organization when it undergoes a project. The first goal is to finish the project in time, and the second goal is to finish the project remaining within a certain cost limit so as to ensure the earning of profit. But there have been cases in the history where projects could not ensure their completion on the time stipulated in the contract documents, although the work has conformed to the schedules designed on the basis of planning. Or else, even if the managers have ensured the completion of project as per the closing date scheduled, they have not been able to make profits because of cost overruns. It so happens because of several reasons. The reasons include but are not limited to a change in the scope of the project, a change in the political environment of the area in which the project is being executed, a change in the specifications required by the client, or bad estimation of project scope and methodology on the part of the estimator in the start of the project. Irrespective of whatever the reason behind the missing of goals may be, planning should, in the first place, considering the importance of role in the project, is strong enough to estimate all potential hazards, possible reason s of delay, and a change in the political environment that a project is likely to encounter during the course of its execution. One big reason why owners fail to earn profit through the project even when the circumstances remained favourable is that the course of action chosen for that project was not right in the first place, or else, was not even modified in an attempt to make it suitable for the project. â€Å"In order for the plan to be effective, team members must have a large say in its construction. † (Freedman, 2010). However, since in the start of the project, when nothing about the project has actually materialized except for the intention of the owner to build a project, it is practically not possible to realize all potential hazards a project might come across when started, because all planning is carried out on the basis of estimation considering the case history of past projects of similar nature conducted in the same area. The functionality of planning can be looked at from another perspective besides planning in projects. Since the past few decades, realizing the importance of planning, governments in many developing countries have enforced family planning policies in order to gain a firm control over enlarging populations that appear as a threat to their respective economies. Many countries have placed a huge emphasis on family planning in order to control the rapidly growing population. â€Å"To control rapid growth in the population growth and to ensure quality of life, Family Planning, is one of Chinas basic state policies, since 1978†. (www. travelchinaguide. com, 2010). The way China planned a wholesome approach 8 toward reducing poverty has been successful and China has managed to achieve her goals as is evident from the fact that, â€Å"Since 1978, China has accelerated development and reduced its population living in absolute poverty from 250 million to 15 million, according to a new report submitted by the Chinese government†. (Deen, 2009). Hence, family planning in China is one such example where the functions of planning are completed. This shows how important role the function of planning has played in improving the economic health of China. Thus it can be rightly argued that the function of China’s approach toward planning has completed as she managed to achieve her desired goals. 4. Conclusion: Unfortunately, there have been a lot of cases in the past in which the organizations could not realize the importance of employing Continuous planning in their projects. Instead they kept stuck to the plans adopted in old projects of similar nature and suffered huge financial losses as a result of having lost their approach that they adopted toward the execution of project in the first place. Nothing in this world is useful if it is not purposeful and a planning that does not facilitate the owners in achieving their goals is meaningless and does to do justice to its role in the course of a project. But the unfortunate part of the whole argument is that since planning is one of the very initial steps in the life of a project, its effectiveness cannot be predicted with accuracy unless it proves a failure due to the losses incurred with the passage of time. However, when an organization fails to achieve its objectives and does not manage to reach the goals it had set in the beginning, there must have been flaws in the general functions of management i. e. either planning itself or the other four functions of management that are based upon the function of 9 planning i. e. organizing, staffing, leading and controlling. Basically, to plan is undoubtedly always a good approach, but there is no use planning if one does not put in all the extra effort that is required to materialize that planning. In such cases, it can be rightly argued that the functions of planning are not complete unless goals are achieved. Achievement of goals is linked with sound and sufficient work progress, which is based upon a solid course of action that surfaces as a result of planning, and the planning cannot be done without a sound knowledge of objectives and goals to be achieved. Thus, goals cannot be achieved unless they are envisioned prior to planning. 10 5. List Of References Chinese People. (2010) Retrieved from http://www. ravelchinaguide. com/faq/. Cox, M. Brand Value and Brand Cannibalization Essays

Brand Value and Brand Cannibalization Essays Brand Value and Brand Cannibalization Paper Brand Value and Brand Cannibalization Paper In brand marketing, the term cannibalization refers to a new product eating into the profits of a current product from the same company. Its a fairly common business strategy, and while the idea of cannibalizing your own product sounds bad, it can actually be a successful business practice. In 2010 for example, when Apple introduced the iPad, it took sales away from the original Mac computer. However, the iPad ultimately led to an expanded market for consumer computing hardware and was quite a successful venture for Apple. Brand management is a process that involves every part, bit and employee of the company to capture the true essence of the brand. Brand Value cannot be built in a day. It is a long process of building inseparable attributes in consumers mind. Consumers take time to adjust and bond well with a brand. They, like any other child, need to be taken care of, served well and be communicated as well as educated with the correct knowledge at every touch point. Over a period of time, as the brand ages, the loyalty within their minds evolve into an inseparable bond. Hence, brand Value cannot be created by the company alone; it requires to be co-created by the consumers too. The process of brand management is not the role of the marketing department but of the top management of the company. The paper will discuss the theory of creating a brand strategy for a company as a tool for managing a brand and developing it. Now at Present the role of branding is of great importance in the business world and its role is quite hard to ignore. Branding helps differentiate goods or services of one firm from another. It is because of branding that customers are able to identify and prefer the products and services of one firm over another. The paper will examine a uniform knowledge of what the brand stands for and how it will be communicated to the general public and serve as a framework for strategic decision-making for the company management and employees. Brands are in stores, in advertisements, television commercials and with the internet, they are everywhere we look, while browsing through the vast networks of our interests. In brand management, brand contains manager-based and customer-based functions. Brand managers usually stand from the marketer’s and the firm’s perspectives, stressing the perceptions they accrue to a brand to promote products, differentiate companies from their competitors and satisfy short-term commercial goals [5, 6]. From the customer’s point of view, brands not only sign to differentiate products from competing goods but also a semiotic engine producing meaning and values [13]. Therefore a brand is the product as it is experienced and valued in social life, and branding refers to all the activities that shape customer perceptions, particularly the firm’s activities. Today brand management’s importance lays company†²s outside the business itself, in the minds of potent ial buyers [16]. These values of brands are reflected in the, anchors of company. Products are introduced, they live and disappear but brands never ended [16]. The term brand holds multiple meanings. According to John Murphy, founder of Interbrand, a brand is not only an actual product, but also the unique property of a specific owner. Brands are increasingly considered to be the primary capital in many businesses. Sterne [26] argues that a brand is not a name. A brand is not a positioning statement. It is not a marketing message. It is a promise made by a company to its customers and supported by that company. Sterne’s statement indicated a phenomenon of how consumers give their passion and loyalty to a brand. We can explain this phenomenon in a more straight forward way via taking an example of Apple. Apple maintains its consumers by creating a brand connecting with an image of imagination, design and innovation, which is the key to its survival. This phenomenon indicates a brand has an additional value that enables marketers to maintain current consumers and attract new consumers. This value is brand equity. Brand equity means raising brand awareness, maintaining brand loyalty, building up positive associations about brand, and spread product or service information via words-of-mouth communication. How to achieve these goals via optimizing of brand management resources becomes the challenge for today’s marketers [1]. Hence, the paper begins by giving a background of the happening of brand and brand equity valuation are the centre of interest of both academic and business experts in today’s world. The paper also highlights how a company can build, and use a brand in order to obtain and sustain the competitive advantage in the market place. Therefore a brand is a name, term, design, symbol or any other feature that identifies one seller’s good or service as distinct from those of other sellers. Branding is the main important strategy of any business. Branding or Brand is not important only for companies but it takes equal importance for customers. Brand for customers will indicate commitment towards quality from sellers there by reducing time spent in coming to a purchase decision. Brand for companies will indicate a sort of benchmark in quality as well as customer expectation, a point of differentiation from competitors and a steady stream of profit. The brand value can be shown in to four dimensions like Reputation Value, Relationship Value, Experiential Value, and Symbolic Value. Working with a scarcity mentality will help maximize returns for every dollar spent by answering the question, Is this the best way to spend dollars on marketing my brand, or is this money better spent elsewhere to generate greater returns? Like Starbucks, instead of spending money on TV advertising, clusters an area with its stores, increasing total revenue and market share. This was contrary to what established retailing houses did, which was to avoid placing stores near each other so as not to cannibalize sales at existing outlets. For Starbucks, doing so resulted in reduced supply costs and made management of the stores cheaper, which more than made up for sales lost to cannibalization. Thus, funding for expansion from internal cash flow was a judicious use of money. Until recently, Starbucks spent just 1% of its revenues on marketing and advertising (compared to more than 10% for companies of the same size).

Use of Facebook by Non-Profit Agencies Speech or Presentation

Use of Facebook by Non-Profit Agencies - Speech or Presentation Example Using Facebook for professional communication not only improves the efficiency of communications in the organizations but it also encourages it to maximize the impact of its presence within a particular community. According to Waters (2009), non profit organizations can significantly use Facebook and other similar social networking sites to advance their programs and missions. Although possessing a Facebook profile does not necessarily result in an influx of participation, it significantly increases the awareness and improves the relationship between the organization and its stakeholders. This presentation focuses on the various ways through which non profit organizations can effectively use Facebook for their professional communications.... Another important Facebook application that is significantly useful for professional communication for organizations is known as Group or Community pages. By creating Group/Community pages on their Facebook profiles, non profit agencies can enhance the popularity of their services and promote their programs. Christ (2005) argues that organizations can also open up discussion forums using their group pages to obtain suggestions regarded the changes they should make in the provision of their services and products. One of the ways through which our non profit organization can effectively use Facebook as a tool for professional communication is to increase transparency and openness in both our management functions and programs. The recent cases of corruption in various non profit sectors call for these organizations to use social networking sites such as Facebook in their official and professional communications. Consequently this will ensure increased transparency through the provision of a detailed description of the programs and activities of the organization as well as its history on its Facebook official web page. Creating a Facebook webpage can also help our organization to establish a closer relationship with its various stakeholders such as donors, target communities and government agencies (Hill and White, 2000). This is because an official web page at the social network site will improve our message dissemination through the use of the many Facebook applications such as posting of links to important new events in the organization, giving more information on the future causes of the organization as well as posting videos, photographs

Financial Markets and Instruments Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Financial Markets and Instruments - Assignment Example Under the regulatory instrument, emphasis is on the use f commercial paper by larger corporations or companies who have had the backing of an issuing bank, promising to make settlement for the quotation on the face of the commercial before or on the date specified. Like in most other financial jurisdictions, the issuance of commercial paper is not guaranteed by a collateral and so the need for strict regulations that ensure that such instruments on the money market are used only by corporations that have been rated with excellent credit rating status (Fombrun, 2012). 2. At different times in the economic management of the country, the government of the Kingdom has had the need to generate both long term and short term financing. As far as short term financing is concerned, emphasis has always been on the use of short term financing to take care of short term debt financing. One of the commonest instruments used in this case is overdraft, whereby it transmits cash that are beyond avai lable funds (Greenley and Foxall, 2011). On the long term also, the use of equity investment ranks as the commonest form of financing that the government undertakes. Often, this is done by targeting local industries and buying and holding shares of the stocks of such businesses for projected capital gains and dividend growth. Commonly, equity investment has been selected in cases where investments have been proven to have high information asymmetries and moral hazard (Drumwright and Murphy, 2001). 3. With a global rank of 40, the Macro Economy Meter (2013) rates the total outstanding debt of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as $134 billion. Of this total outstanding debt, the share of public debt has been calculated to be 12.9% of the gross domestic product of the country, coming up to $6.6 billion. According to the CIA World Factbook, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as of 31 December 2012 had a total outstanding external debt of $127.4 billion. By this, it means the government of the Kingdo m owed this amount to public and private entities that were nonresident of the country and thus repayment had to be done in either foreign currency, goods or services (Fombrun, 2005). Because these external debts are paid through foreign currency, they are calculated based on exchange rate base rather than the use of purchasing power parity terms. 4. Since 2001, the annual total value of new borrowing by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has generally been experiencing and upward rise trend. This means that the rate of borrowing done by the government has been increasing consistently by the year. In the graph below, it would be noted that but for the periods from 2003 to 2005, and 2008 to 2009, the annual total value of debt has been increasing, indicating a rise in new borrowing. Source: Marco Economy Meter (2013) Based on readings from the graph, McAlister and Ferrell (2012) have argued that the new borrowing that is done by the Saudi government on a monthly basis is US $1.2 billion, co ming up to an annual total of $14.4 billion. With this value, the debt-to-income ratio of Saudi Arabia has been estimated to be very high, leading to annual per capita income of $25,000. 5. The use of stripped coupons is not illegitimate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia but not a commonly preferred form of debt financing or financial capital generator. This is because in the use of stripped coupons, there are often two stripped parties, one of which receives the principle as zero-coupon bond when the bond is

Human Resource Information Systems Essay Example for Free

Human Resource Information Systems Essay Employees’ retention and keeping them satisfied so that they work on their full capacity and be productive for the company is very important. They should be well motivated and the programs like compensation, training and development and base salary should set such that employees feel that the company values them and their hard work a lot. For all this, the company’s human resource department has to put in all of this data into the computer system and then to manage it for further references in future. This information is then saved in the company’s system and special software’s are there to handle them for the company. Since the human resource department happens to bear the responsibility of the organization in the terms of the range of tasks for the employees and how the employees are supposed to interact with each other depending on their assigned designations and with other businesses. The software’s used in the human resource department have a range which starts from performing a primary function, to all complete software suits which are designed to solve all the needs of human resource department may have. These software target all the functions of human resource like payroll, benefits, for employees, recruiting, compliance and many more. This information maintained is so sensitive that it must be and should be handled by the human resource department only, and should be uploaded on their network map drives rather than on every other department’s, which might cause trouble as they would be able to access it. In this report, it would also be discussed that which of the software the companies use would be the best for them because of their efficiency and the time they consume to give out results to them. Human resource information technology faces many needs. Like mentioned above, human resource department has to solve many assignments related to the payroll of the employees, the benefits the employees get on their performance they show for the company. Other software or the multi task software check about the employees and keeps a record of their designations and the promotions they get further in their careers. The last part of compliance software is used to ensure that the policies they are making do not abuse the company mission and other goals they really want to achieve. For the payroll part of human resource, human resource department needs those softwares that can do the basic function for them like calculation all the employees pay according to their given designations. This software must also be able to take calculations of the employees hourly and monthly pay. It should also be able to calculate the compensations and the uncompensated time given by the employee and added and adjusted in the employees’ salaries ( . Kavanagh and Thite, 2008) These softwares should be such that they automatically cut the taxes from the salaries of the employees of the company, and this tax should be both pre tax income and post – tax income of the employees especially when the employees have elected for the pre – tax deduction, which are known as the 410K, cafeteria, plan and medical deductions. Deduction management should also take place in this software, so that the employees do not have to do it manually, which cause some man error in calculations. If this is done manually, it would take a lot of time to get done with every employee of the company and their might be some errors too. The other department of human resource where they need information technology is at the benefits area. Softwares which is multi tasking or who performs solely benefit functions helps the human resource employees by making them track every other employee of the company, its accrual and the usage of benefits they get. This would also count paid time off, and the payments which are given on time. This software would also help the human resource employee to check whether the other employees’ are eligible for the medical and health related benefits. All those fringe benefits provided by the company like health clubs, to its employees may also be tracked the human resource department at the need of information. That is why, the companies’ need a software which would help them out the benefits for all the employees of the company and keep a record whether they are eligible for it or not. The third part is employees. This is an important part since it’s the duty of the human resource department to do the hiring and selecting of the employees and then later retain them for the company. Since the company is not run by only two or three department but by many, the number of employees is a lot too then. To keep a track on all of the employees, who are currently employed by the company is very hard and that too by their designations. Softwares help the human resource department people as they set a range of the designation for the employees and to the employees group at very different level of the organization. For employees, the human resource department would need few basic functions from the softwares. Human resources would like the softwares to have tracking system and also feature recording of employees’ performance, their attendances and absences and lastly the development and the work they are putting in for the company. This would help the company as they would know how much effort is been put in by the employees and who then becomes eligible for the compensation or the bonuses. This software may also have these features such as management of compensation, time information system, software which could do assessments on employee skills, on their training and education and a record on their behavior with other employees, especially if they got themselves into conflicts or an incident in which they have resolved things. Recruiting is another part of human resource department which requires software to do their task on every process of the recruitment. This software would have every employee’s job descriptions according to the designations and this may also help in future while hiring new people on those posts. Software might also help the human resource staff by storing extra information of prospective background and relocation of the employees among the departments and lastly, about the new employees who had been hired by the company. Lastly it’s compliance which is to be dealt by the human resource. Any software related to it would help the department by letting them know that whatever the company they are working for is complying with, is actually applicable with the laws or not. This includes the process of hiring new employees, so that no nepotism occurs and the qualified people are not left behind. No employee is fired or terminated without any legal reason. The education criterion matches the job post requirement and should also store information complaints regarding sexual harassment. Also that the company complies with all of the federal regulations they are supposed to follow. For human resource department, the best softwares they have found so far for their work to be done very efficiently are the OrangeHRM suite software and the other software is by the Microsoft, named Microsoft Dynamics suite which also happen to be single-source providers. These are considered to be the best softwares for the companies to complete their human resource related tasks. These softwares are such that they not only manage the tasks of the human resource department very efficiently but they also consumer less time to complete the assignment. The other softwares are Ajiva Simple HR which is considered to be a least expensive product and does all the functions required by the human resources. The information of this is available in the forms of graphical dashboard. Other software is of People-Trak HR which is affordable too and gets more expensive on adding more features ( Rashid, 2009). There are other softwares too for the human resource departments. There are other softwares too available for the completion of human resource department task. They are mostly related to the payroll like mentioned above, then work time of the employees, and the benefits administration to keep a track of who is eligible to get one or not. Recruiting softwares are also available and training and learning management system softwares are there too to help the employees the human resource department to sort out their things more easily (Sleezer, Wentling and Cude, 2002). Performance record softwares are also available for the human resource department that sorts out the bonuses or the incentives the employees would get according to their performance they have shown for the company. Lastly, appraisal softwares are also there so that the human resource department can collect online information about the views the employees hold for their company and their jobs and then make policies out of them so that the employees are highly motivated. Before selecting the software technology, the company must make sure whether the software they are going to get from the other source has enough flexibility and scalability for the human resource department and its tasks or not. The employees should determine that whether the data could be imported from the excel spread sheets, its databases and other paper documents, all those things which contain important data that needs to be put into computer, otherwise it would create a problem. The software should also be able to take in the information and do filter of things which it needs to take in and store in specific data bases. Companies should also check whether the software is able to accommodate the human resource department of the companies. If true software is picked out for the enrollment, it will evaluate the enrollment activity and impose all the necessary rules and combination of rules, messages and other ways to meet and fulfill the eligibility of the requirements which are desired.

Macbeth and the Witches Essay example -- essays research papers

Macbeth: The Witches’ Responsibility for Macbeth’s Actions The three witches that are introduced at the beginning of the play are responsible for the introduction of the ideas that caused Duncan’s death and Macbeth’s destruction but not for Macbeth’s actions themselves. They recount to Macbeth three prophecies; that Macbeth will be: 1) Thane of Cawdor, 2) Thane of Glamis, and 3) King. Macbeth welcomes the ideas spawned from the witches’ prophecies, which is what triggered the spiral of events in this story. Macbeth eventually followed through with killing King Duncan. It was sometimes thought that the witches had the ability to reverse the natural order of things. This brings to the play the idea of fate and the role it has in the play. One can wonder if Macbeth ever had a chance of doing what was right after he heard the witches’ prophecies. However, it is more realistic to believe that Macbeth was responsible for his own actions throughout the play and in the end it was he that made the final decisions. T he witches could predict the future, they can add temptation, and influence Macbeth, but they cannot control his destiny. Macbeth creates his own misery when he is driven by the guilt of his actions. This causes him to become insecure about his actions, which causes him to commit more murders. The witches offer great enticement, but in the end, it is each individual’s decision to fall for the temptation, or to be strong enough to resist their appeal. The three witches are...

Who I am

As I scroll through the unknown hallways of high school for the first time, anxious and worried of the unexpected I was about to anticipate, my palms start the tip of shaking heavily and sweating uncontrollably. Thinking to It, I knew It was a start, a new start of life as a beginning, new chapter of not just believing in finding myself, challenging more to my limitations, setting high bars, letting myself free to the world of judgments and doubts of others around me, and showing my heart to the world in the creation I knew was forming â€Å"my future† already. As in the future I knew would be he outcome of the things that old chosen to follow or present of today, I knew I would want to become and be the things that I desired or worked for. I was the kind of average teenager that was very practical and simple to my own age, as they describe it. In someone who was Just rousing around life and just living to the very last purpose, but that wasn't the person I wanted to be identif ied as.I was the kind of grown girl that was more prone than to Just being there for living, I was living it to the very Max of how I wanted to create an life that I took advantage of shaping It successfully, happily, and valued more than Just to myself. I am the kind of person who takes a stand in my life and to the opponents of speaking up for what I believe in strongly in whatever take in I have to, whether for the sake of my good, to speak out, or against an disagreement or for someone of any kind who struggles without an example of following, or helped along the way.I am the girl who finds more than an example of following someone In their steps to accomplish, like my mom, and using a motivation and dedication towards life of my own to fully provide the example to the environment and people around of everything I do or am. I am the girl who desires a accomplishment and long and short term goal, and challenge to be overcome and expected a lesson or outcome out of it to allow mys elf to keep improving whether I was defeated by those or won them, I would still keep pressuring myself to doing more each day.I am the girl that fully improves myself to keep understanding and lack of communicating skills, even for the times that many might not understand me in a way, but I am different. Deferent in a sense that nobody will be completely be eke the way I was or Is created today, in the sense of my doing, humor, personality, thinking, writing/ clothing style, or especially the person I made it to be remembered But before beginning.. I was Borneo in a family of strict, traditional, hard workers from Tray Blah, Vietnam. I was raised on books and the Asian doctrine that education Is the only way to success.Shortly being as an elite kid with so much fun filled childhood, life as I knew was going to drastically change. I started school as soon as I arrived at the beginning of second grade. I didn't know any English, I had no friends, and I was constantly picked on for th e way I dressed and talked. I could not complete any of my schoolwork because I didn't understand anything but aside that, my parents got divorced. I was so ashamed of the life I was living with. Worse, I was lonely and overwhelmed, and I felt so utterly lost.I knew In the example that my dad, a new life to provide her children, new house, and transportation, but she made it happen. Meanwhile at home my mom was pushing me to learn English, bringing mom worksheets and books to help me. My shame became my source of motivation, forcing me to work and relearn the basics until I mastered the language. As I began to grasp the mechanics of English, I made friends and my school life greatly improved. With my moms' encouragement and my own perseverance, within a year, by the end of third grade, I was getting straight As and even surpassing many of my classmates. From that day on, the language barrier became nonexistent. Looking back now, I fully appreciate everything that my mom did for me th ose first few months. While I was struggling to learn a language and to fit in, my mom was working even harder to learn a new lifestyle of her past struggle and to assimilate to a country whose values and culture are so drastically different from her own in which she didn't know how to handle individually living out alone. For her, her entire live were in Vietnam. She had grown up in that land, established successful career, and made a name for herself. In moving on to a new beginning, she gave all that up in the hopes that I, and my brother would have a chance at a better life. In which my mom sacrificed so much for me and my brother, she continued to put aside her own interests and wants, to provide for the two of us. She allowed me to live the life of comfort that I do today. From my mom, I have learned the meaning of hard work, integrity, and compassion. I truly believe that my drive, determination, and dedication in everything I do come from my mom, because I see it in her every single day. I respect my mom tremendously and I work hard to become successful to repay her for all she done.Of course, our relationship is not perfect. I am always frustrated and angry with her unreasonably high expectations, endless comparisons, and overbearing protectiveness. However, I have learned to fuel that anger into motivation to try harder and prove to her that I am good enough. Today, I work for my dreams, to provide for myself as an independent woman, and to travel the world and get lost in the chaos of busy cities. I work to give back to my family, to my friends, to my community around me, of all which have made me the person I am. I want to leave my mark on this world, to make a name for myself, and to become a somebody.

Legal Systems

Rawls describes individual rights as, â€Å"rights representing the moral rights of individuals in society prior to government. Individual rights are principles that identify and sanction certain interactions between individuals in a society while excluding others,† (20) Different countries have different ways of guarding their citizens’ human rights. Governments that respect individual rights often provide for comprehensive controls that protect individual rights. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is the body that deals with the rights of Canadian citizens. The Charter is law and is part of the Canadian constitution. Since the charter is law, the federal government can not easily make changes to it. It is also stronger than laws the provinces create. www.hrweb.org/. It guarantees freedoms called fundamental freedoms; freedom of conscience and religion, freedom of thought, belief and expression, including freedom of all media and other press. Freedom of peaceful assembly and freedom of association is also guaranteed. These are the basic freedoms that the Canadian citizens share. However, the Charter allows for the limit of these freedoms under certain circumstances like, restricting the freedom of assembly in time of war. To help a disadvantaged group achieve equality, it allows differential treatment. The Chatter is to be interpreted in way that preserves and enhances the multicultural heritage of Canadians. The United States constitution on human rights is very similar in content to the outlined Canadian individual rights apart from the some rights in the Canadian Charter can be overridden by governments if they deliberately do so. This is not the case with the United States Human rights laws which cannot even be even removed entirely by a constitutional amendment as they are considered unchallengeable under the natural rights principles the Constitution is founded upon. The United States human rights laws, unlike British laws are applicable to everyone in the country as a whole and are not subject to small state adherence. ‘Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein,’ (Rawls 25). Unlike the British Human Rights Constitution that is set within the United Kingdom, United States made a universal declaration of its human rights protection strategy. New Zealand, which is a former colony of Britain  in its human rights protection aims at developing harmonious relationships between individuals and achievement of equal employment opportunity.   New Zealand have accepted a very limited right to privacy on specific topics while primarily balancing privacy as one interest against security, commercial and political interests in fragmented legislation and tort law rulings, unlike   Britain, which has very complete rules on privacy rights of individuals. www.hrweb.org/ Britain has a very complete and elaborate system in handling human rights issues. It has an official   union that deals with human rights that is, the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, which has several protocols guarding human rights The protocols accepted vary from one state to another this is effective in reaching all targets as per their individual need. These protocols include laws prohibiting death penalty, protection against torture, protection against slavery and forced labor with the exception of prison labor and national services. To those protected by the convention of liberty and lawful arrest. Britain has also established a special court that deals with human rights violation, European Court of Human Rights, where the court decision is legally binding and the court awards damages. Inter-state rights violation cases can also be taken to this court for states that are party ton that protocol. This provides the individual with immunity against abuse and special hearing of cases. The protocol outlines the procedures of a fair trial. Religion, marriage and privacy are also covered in the British human rights laws. The protocols also prohibit discrimination of whatever kind. The amendment of the laws for human rights is also possible with the British system, unlike the American system where the law is protect under natural rights systems. The British laws are much more flexible to meet the needs of the time and change of priority. When protocols are introduced, they need to pass the universal ratification before they come into force in order to maintain the institutional unity of the Convention machinery. Despite the British human rights protection strategies being almost similar in content to the other countries, it is more elaborate and its administration being under its own special court makes it be independent of the general laws and normal courts jurisdiction. The application of the laws per state also gives the citizens a free choice when it comes to living by the set rules. Its amendments are also much more flexible to expansions and being managed by a special body and not politicians, it’s more effective in administration and management of issues. Revolutionary War essays

Revolutionary War essays In the American Revolution two totally different armies from two totally different countries and cultures collided in a war to settle the freedom of a nation in the making. This setting made for some sloppy warfare, but more importantly it showcased the advantages and disadvantages for each side. The British armys main weakness was its leadership, not a lack of leadership or even a lack of leaders, just the wrong guys in the wrong place. Advancement in the military was based on connections, money, and seniority. This allowed people of no experience or skill to buy their way into positions of great power. This is evident with leaders such as Germain, and Montagu, who were either incompetent and inexperienced or corrupt and unmotivated. Contrary to popular belief George III was able to command and lead his country but had very little decision making power. This impotency did not stop at the high-ranking decision-makers. Many of the generals in the colonies were weak and poorly suited to do battle. Several experienced and respected generals, like Gage and Howe, were unsuccessful due poor decision making and an admitted lack of imagination and extreme cautiousness. Then there were other generals who were very able but due to their enormous egos ended up failing in important sit uations. The only very effective general on a constant basis was Cornwallis, and even he couldnt deliver when it counted. On the other hand as you go down the ranks of the British military the ability of the soldiers got better. The infantry and cavalry was the best trained and finely tuned organizations of military in the world at that time. This was a terrific advantage when they actually got into traditional battles with the Americans poorly trained and inexperienced fighters. On the American side of the fighting things werent much better. American leadership was mostly self-taught generals who were desperately inexperienced and un...

Operational Management in Health & Social Care Essay

Operational Management in Health & Social Care - Essay Example As the report declares TPS way of thinking is largely influenced by the thinking of Edwards Deming, the quality guru who taught, among other thoughts, that managers should stop their reliance on mass inspection as a way of achieving quality and instead embed quality in the production process and the product in the first instance. Essentially, â€Å"lean† means doing more with less by eliminating or at least limiting the waste of time and resources. Lean thinking is a management strategy that applies to all organizations, including health care organizations, because the concept has to do with the improvement of processes. Every organization has in place a series of processes intended to create value for its customers. The central idea in lean thinking is to scrutinize an organization’s processes with the aim of discerning between the processes that add value to the customer and those that do not and are, therefore, wasteful.  This paper stresses that lean thinking is o ften associated with manufacturing business organizations, not health care where the wastage of time, supplies and money are rampant. However, the principles of lean thinking can work in health care just as they do in manufacturing; this paper demonstrates how by analysing two healthcare organizations that successfully applied lean management to reduce cost and wastage and improve service delivery. The analysis is preceded by an overview of the key concepts of lean management.

This is why I chose pharmacology as a career path because studying the drugs involves also doing a lot of mathematical calculation, thus my love for math would make it easier for me to carry out these complex calculations. What I plan to achieve in my pharmacology career is ensure that every drug that passes by me is safe for the population and persuade my senior to carry out research in drugs that leave side effects on people, which end up affecting their general health instead of treating them.
